On June 27th, 1950, Rev. James Weber is notified he is to establish a parish in Van Cortlandtville. The name of the Parish will be St. Columbanus.
It will include two mission Churches which belonged to St. Patrick's Parish in Yorktown Heights: the Church of the North American Martyrs in Lake Peekskill and St. Paul's Church in Lake Oscawana.
